My friends, “It’s hard to believe that a man is telling the truth when you know you would lie if you were in his place”. H. L. Mencken Our President has spoken.
I feel that he spoke well and he spoke for our country. This election, most analyst said it will define our unity, it will define us as a nation. The world waited to hear the bad news that never came.
Goodluck Jonathan administration deepened democracy and the rule of law. Nigeria is in deed a great nation and we are a great people. We deserve the best; unity and peace, development and progress, human dignity and respect of the International Community.
By being a statesman in conceding defeat, Goodluck Jonathan has written his name in gold in the political history of our country. To paraphrase Quintus Horatius Flaccus “Exegi monumentum, aere perennius.”
I have completed a memorial more lasting than bronze.” Our generation by this singular act has thought our youths by example that politics can be played without bitterness.
To our in coming administration it is noble and proper to keep the peace and unity we have achieved today.
General Mohamadu Buhari is a great Nigerian and we the people expect much from his government. “To whom much is given, much is expected”. Let patriotism reign!
Let us love our country. Let him give us a country worth dying for. Again, let me paraphrase Quintus Horatius Flaccus (65BC- 8TH Roman poet of the Augustus age) “Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori”
“It is a sweet and seemly thing to die for one’s country”
